A small town called Mystic Falls, Virginia is located in a southern state where nothing unpleasant ever occurs.
Throughout the series, Elena says the well-known last words a few times, almost always just before she is ready to pass away.
However, practically all amazing tales of the fantastical begin in a little town that seems unremarkable at first.
Legacies, the program that succeeded The Vampire Diaries, still included Mystic Falls even if The Vampire Diaries was no longer on television.
It still plays a key role in TVD mythology. Even the most ardent admirers may not know a few peculiar facts about the town.
Read on to learn more about Mystic Falls and where you can find The Vampire Diaries merch.
Although The Vampire Diaries was filmed in Georgia, there are continuous set visits where you can visit the hotspots and repurposed sets from the series—as well as its spin-offs, The Originals and Legacies—many fans are unaware that the Mystic Grill exists.
The characters from the series frequently visited the Grill, and some even worked there. The Vampire Diaries' success in Georgia led to a few restaurant owners opening new locations.
If you've read The Vampire Diaries books, you'll be familiar with the town's name, Fell's Church. Unfortunately, licensing problems prevented the show from using that name.
Since Mystic Falls is a fictional town based on that state, Falls Church would have been a very accurate representation of the actual Virginian city if the program had kept the name.
It is analogous to how a real-world location inspired the Twilight series' fictional town of Forks, Washington. Fell's Church was too specific, so The Vampire Diaries' makers needed a new name.
If you've ever paid attention to the search engine the program's characters used, Bing was a transparent product placement partner for the program.
Most people would genuinely prefer Bing over Google if everyone switched to it. Although it's entertaining to consider, it's likely that everyone in this community elected to use the inferior search engine instead of Google for more covert, unstated motives.
Did you know that Mystic Falls has a real waterfall? The pilot episode gives us a sneak peek of it, even though it isn’t used again in the series. But given the name of the place, we can deduce that.
Funny enough, there is a place in the actual world called Mystic Falls. It's unclear whether the two are connected or not. There is a beautiful waterfall in the series at a location called Steven's Quarry, which might be connected to the town's name.
The existence of two newspapers in Mystic Falls raises the possibility that this wasn't merely a continuity mistake in the television program. The first was The Mystic Falls Courier, which was established in the late 1800s.
The Courier frequently appears in flashback scenes from that period, implying that the Mystic Falls Daily was the current newspaper and the Courier was the older one. Nevertheless, The Courier has appeared in the scenes from the present. Mystic Falls Daily only aired one episode in 2009.
Mystic Falls is incredibly detailed, with so many hidden details you may not have noticed. From various references to local legends, the secrets beneath the town, and how the characters interact, there is a much deeper story being told than what is seen on the surface.
From the supernatural elements to the everyday lives of the citizens of Mystic Falls, there is something new to discover with every episode. The Vampire Diaries has created an intricate and fascinating world with so many hidden details that no matter how many times you watch the episodes, you can always find something new, even from a
